Manhattan Royalty and Jordan Taylor
It was time to take the 'royal' half brothers out onto the turf course. Raven and Prince were the first ones out. Prince still had yet to pull in a win under Sugarhill. He should've already been Grade One. He was so close. Taylor planned on running him on through the Breeders Cup, whether he made it to Grade One or not. He was a great stallion with a lot to prove. His first cover would be to Tears Of An Angel. It would be a mega foal.
Taylor rode out on the gray colt. Manny was a recent newcomer from Star Thoroughbreds. He was hoping to have a good future at Sugarhill. Taylor was falling for him and knew he had a lot to offer. She had her eye on him for the longest time. To finally have him racing under her colors was an accomplishment. She was looking to run him at least halfway through Y15. Maybe he would reach Grade One by then. He was a flashy colt. He had a lot to prove just like his brother did.
Manny took his place next to Prince. They settled out at a trot. Their strides matched perfectly. Both riders sat quiet in the saddle. They let the brothers do their thing. Manny had his head bowed proudly as he pranced alongside Prince. Prince held his head high, nostrils flared. His eyes were ahead, with quick glances to his shoulder where the unfamiliar gray horse matched pace with him.
It was soon time to let the boys run. Both were eager at the bit. Once allowed it was Prince who took the early lead. Manny settled in behind him as they made their way to the first turn. Each horse hugged the rail tightly. Taylor kept Manny far enough behind to not clip heels with the front runner. Raven glanced under her arm, just to see where the competition was. Prince settled into a lengthier stride as they headed into the backstretch.
Manny was in a comfortable position. It was where he liked to be. He stayed close enough so that Prince could feel his presence. They quickly reach that final turn. Taylor flicked the whip against Manny's shoulder. "Show me what you're made of", she whispered. He sprung out, full throttle. He reached Prince's shoulder. The bay stallion eased in, increasing his speed.
They headed into the stretch, neck and neck. Prince wasn't going to let up to this one, but Manny was gaining hard. He had Prince pinned on the rail and he was able to break free from the dual. He pulled away, Taylor giving him a brisk hand ride. Prince started gaining as they reached the wire. Manny got the win, this time around.

Andrew was the first one out on the dirt track. Ami was being his usual fiery self. He was giving Andrew a hard time, but the rider knew how to handle it. He was looking forward to riding the young colt. He didn't think that training him against older horses would do him any good, but it would definitely help him gain some good experience. They trotted along the inside rail, still the only pair on the track. That was until a whinny broke the silence.
Finn was making his presence known. He let out a loud whinny. He ended it with a snort. He noticed the bay colt and his rider trotting around the track. He seemed to pick up the pace, but Taylor held him back. "Not so fast, you big grump." Her love for the colt had grown. Like most of the other horses she had picked up, he still had yet to have a win under the purple and white silks of Sugarhill. She knew one would come his way soon. She turned behind her, noticing hoofbeats.
Raven brought up the rear on one of Sugarhill's newest residents, Majestic Hero. Jester towered over all. He was still getting used to his surroundings. He calmed down a little once he settled beside the chestnut colt. Finn nickered a hello. He was only being polite, for now. Jester would stand stud starting with Y15. It would be the last season of stud duty for his sire, Sugarhill's own Everyday Hero. It would be the last for the legend and the start of something new for the bay colt. Taylor thought it would be a good idea to start him young.
The three colts cantered along together. Ami was on the rail, Finn in the middle, and Jester hugged the outside. The three riders were ready for anything. They gave the colts a quick warmup. Jester wasn't too used to the dirt, but Taylor felt he would do fine since it was only a workout. "How far are we going?" Raven asked. "We will start them off at the seven furlong pole." Taylor said.
Ami took that lead right at the start. He thundered along, Finn was on his flank, and Jester settled just behind them. The group headed along the backstretch, the cooler air whipping at their manes and their riders faces. Taylor turned Finn towards the rail when they came to the top of the turn. He shot through that hole and quickly passed Ami. The young colt got startled. Jester was head to head with him as they chased Finn down the stretch.
Finn had this one in the bag. Taylor peeked under her arm. The colts behind them would stay put there. Finn was too strong today. He coasted past the finish line. Ami barely edged Jester out for second. It just wasn't Jester's surface. He would've smoked them if it was on the turf. It was a fantastic run for them all.
